The LCMC Endowment Fund Board of Directors awarded a fourth grant in 2019 to the Lake Fork Health Service District (LFHSD) at their regular quarterly meeting on June 7. Other business attended to included the addition of Jerry Johnson to the Board representing the LFHSD and filling the vacancy left by the late Scott Beedy.
The Board also set a tentative date for an Open House in partnership with the Lake City Chamber of Commerce for July 18. The event will include participation by supported organizations LFHSD and the Silver Thread Public Health District. More details on the time and event particulars will be forthcoming.
The latest grant award to the LFHSD for $912 is to replace the suction device used in the trauma area. Previously in 2019 grants have been awarded for medical billing training, a new shredder, and a new lab chair. Grants already paid in 2019 total $7,010.
The Endowment fund was founded in 1996 to provide support to the Medical Center. Since then the scope has expanded to include the Lake Fork Health Service District, Silver Thread Public Health Service District, and Hinsdale County EMS. Directors or officers of the supported organizations sit on the Endowment Board to assure close integration and communication.
“The Endowment donors have been incredibly generous since 1996. Our supported organizations have their own funding and budgets that cover most financial needs, but from time-to-time special programs, expenses, or capital needs arise that we help with. We greatly appreciate our supporters and encourage donations to assure we can continue to assure quality healthcare in Lake City into the future”, added Endowment Board President Bernie Krystyniak.
The LCMC Endowment Fund, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) with the Mission of supporting quality health care delivery in the Lake Fork Health Service District. The Endowment was established in 1996 with 97.7% of donations going to Lake City grants or invested for future needs.
